I am a fashion model in Korea. Recently, I signed a contract with a European clothing brand. So, I had to visit England for the shooting. The team selected Hastings city for the shooting as it has the best places that we needed. I booked a flight and then my PA searched for the best cab companies in England. She found company the best as its customer reviews were superb with 5 stars rating. She called the company to book a cab. The customer agent behaved so nicely. My journey was booked from Gatwick airport to Hastings. When I landed at the Gatwick airport, I got a welcome message with the driver’s details from the company. It proved that I was going with an authentic and professional company. When I came to the meeting point, The driver was already waiting for me with my name on board. He was a nice person indeed. He was so polite and professional. I like this company’s service. The whole journey was stress-free and smooth. Will use it again for sure. Thanks. When the High Weald sandstone slope falls into the English Channel, Hastings is an active fishing port, a Victorian resort and a historic settlement.
Hastings has been one of Medieval's coasts of coastal towns known as Cinque Ports and has a beautiful old town in a valley overlooking the rocks of the East and West Hills. The town got its name from the Battle of Hastings, the most important event in English history when William of Normandy defeated Anglo-Saxons who pretended to be Harold Godwinson to start the Norman Conquest. The battlefield and its abbey are only 15 minutes by road or train, while there are award-winning venues, museums, art galleries and simple family attractions to stay in town for at least a day. The picturesque old quarter, in the eastern part of Hastings, follows the beautiful Medieval landscape and contains the remains of a wall that was raised in the 14th century during the 100th War. Adjacent to the main road and crosswalks are half-wooden houses and a Georgian face covering the oldest buildings. These have antique shops, one-quirky boutiques, a historic lodge, galleries, cafes and seafood restaurants. There’s always something going on in the summer, like the Sea and Wine Festival, or Jack in the Green. Next to the water is the Stade port, which we will discuss in more detail later. But along Rock-a-Nore Road stands tall black wooden huts, “net shops”, dating back to the 19th century and providing climate protection for nets and other fishing gear. A trip that needs to be done if you want to get into the history of Hastings, Battle Abbey is a 15-minute drive or train ride.
Destroyed in part, this Benedictine abbey was built on the Battle of Hastings in 1070 by the Normans as a way to regret the killings that took place during their conquest of England. An elaborate altar was erected right where the Anglo-Saxon King Harold fell. This has now been marked with a stone, as the toilet was demolished by the Reformation, and its place was transformed into a beautiful home. You can watch the battlefield with audioguide, watch a movie and carry identical weapons in the tourist centre. The house has a beautiful 19th-century walled garden and you can make your way around the abbey ruins of the 13th century.
